Μέρες του 1903
Δεν τα ηύρα πια ξανά -- τα τόσο γρήγορα χαμένα....
τα ποιητικά τα μάτια, το χλωμό
το πρόσωπο.... στο νύχτωμα του δρόμου....

Δεν τα ηύρα πια -- τ' αποκτηθέντα κατά τύχην όλως,
που έτσι εύκολα παραίτησα·
και που κατόπι με αγωνίαν ήθελα.
Τα ποιητικά τα μάτια, το χλωμό το πρόσωπο,
τα χείλη εκείνα δεν τα ηύρα πια.
